Very rare 1st edition Verner Panton chairs set, Herman Miller
Verner Panton (13 February 1926 – 5 September 1998) is considered one of Denmark’s most influential 20th-century furniture and interior designers. During his career he designed innovative and futuristic furniture in a wide variety of materials, especially plastics, and in bright colors. His style reflected the spirit of the 1960s, but became popular again in the late twentieth century.
The design concept for a stackable chair made from one cast piece began in the 1950s. With the help of Willi Fehlbaum, the first Panton production chairs came onto the market in 1968. This model is made of the material Baydur (developed by Bayer), which was later withdrawn from the market due to the cost price of the material.
