Estec's TwinEQ was derived from a console EQ design developed for Michael Cretu (Enigma). Cretu wanted a design combining the qualities of a Neve console EQ with Harrison 32c filters, but tweaking both towards more aggressive behaviours.

The EQ is best understood as a radical, transformative, resonant sound sculpting device. The LP/HP filter's curves are beautifully tuned, with a little resonant bump around the cut off frequency to give them a more solid "grip".

As with many Estec designs, the available parameters encompass extreme and well overlapping ranges, enabling complex combination EQ curves:

High Pass filter: 20 Hz – 3 kHz
Low Pass filter: 140 Hz – 40 kHz (!)

Low Mid: 200 Hz – 2 kHz
High Mid: 750 Hz – 7.5 kHz
High Band: 3 – 18 kHz Hz
