Abbate Guido

I'm selling a 1947 off-the-shelf Abbate motorboat. The boat is located in northern Italy on Lake Iseo.
This fantastic motorboat from my private collection was built after the war by the pioneer Guido Abbate, father of the great Tullio Abbate who we all knew for his fantastic racing motorboats.
Built on commission for Ercole Remigi, father of the well-known singer Memo Remigi.
This is not a hull built on an assembly line like the subsequent ones from 1950 such as the “Villa d Este”, “California”, “Eden Rock” models; we can define this as the father of the "California" model.
It features a four-cylinder BPM engine with 1800 displacement and 65 hp of power which makes it an excellent motorboat with inimitable elegance. This engine was also adopted by a racing Cisitalia and adapted for road use.
Also innovative for the time was the hull and sides in double crossed layers nailed with copper nails.
Dimensions 5.50 long by 1.80 wide.
It still retains its original mount.
A conservative restoration was carried out maintaining the DNA of the object.
Only replace the wallpapers with new ones of the same type and shade.
20 micron thick chrome plating and 22 coat painting cycle.

An object for true collectors, it turns out to be the oldest recreational Abbate in existence!
