Beschreibung

Kakejiku, a Japanese art that is designed to hang in tea room for tea ceremony. It's usually either Japanese style drawing or calligraphy. It gives a nice Japanese atmosphere to your room to hang as it is (using two weights on the bottom to straighten the scroll), or re-work the contents on modern style in frame and passepartout.

This Kakejiku was used to be owned by my grandparents in Japan at least for 25 years. The paper is a bit sun burned, but it gives good antique touch.

Content meaning

A person's life is like traveling a long distance carrying a heavy burden. Don't rush.
If you think that inconvenience is normal, you won't be dissatisfied.
When greed arises in your heart, remember the painful times.
Remember that patience is the basis for staying safe and at peace for a long time, and that ``anger'' is your enemy.
It is dangerous to only know about winning and not know about losing.
Reflect on your own actions and don't attack others' responsibility.
Not having enough is better than having too much.
